My journey in the internet marketing world started around 2002 not long after I purchased my first computer. Having a curious mind, always full of ideas for myself and others, it was only a matter of time before I began trying to figure out ways to make my life and the lives of others easier while earning money online doing what I love most; helping people and making a nice living doing it. I knew that the internet was the answer to making a lot more money and reaching a lot more people than my day job or a brick and mortar business. What I didn’t know at the time was how long my journey to success and wealth would become.
To me, internet marketing is all about making money while making a difference. Making a difference is who I am and what I am all about. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology and have been in the mental health field for almost 20 years working mainly with children and adults with severe and persistent mental illness. However, it is time for me to move away from the profession, which has become more about money and regulation, and less about making a difference, so I am increasing my efforts in the internet marketing world where I know that the sky is the limit with what you can achieve with the only limit being your own imagination. Well, at least in my mind it is. Let’s face it, anything in life is about your perspective and has a direct effect on life outcomes. I have utilized this way of thinking successfully in my field to give both adults and kids that aha moment to realize they have more control over their lives than they think just by pointing out a different way of looking at a problem. If you are wondering what one of the keys to success is in online marketing, it is making a difference in the lives of others by solving problems for them and providing great value. Some would argue this is the foundation of internet marketing, and without it, your business will fail and crumble. If it’s all about the money for you, you may find success, but where is the reward in that? How much more fun and life-changing would it be to help others while making a ton of cash doing it?
Like most of you reading this, I have gotten sidetracked by one shiny object after another and sometimes I still do even though I do know many of the secrets to online success. I have literally purchased tens of thousands of dollars in the internet marketing niche over the years with little to show for it…or so I used to think. In the past, I have often referred to myself as a ‘professional newbie’ and ‘digital product junkie’. However, I have come to realize this experience has made me an expert on what people are looking for in the marketplace because I have spent years following so many successful marketers, their blogs, their launches, etc, and purchasing one product after another. Therefore, I have become quite good at predicting which products will be the daily best seller on JVZoo, Warrior + and Clickbank. I should because I am usually the first in line salivating in anticipation of a working buy button on launch day and I’m pretty sure I have purchased at least 75% of the top 25 best-selling products of all time on JVZoo. I know all too well that rush you feel as you read a well-crafted sales page and the energy that swells with cleverly written and delivered video sales page. I also know all too well that feeling of kicking yourself because you keep buying when what you want is to be that marketer who owns the sales page with that buy button everyone is salivating over on your launch day.
In case you are wondering about my experience in internet marketing from a marketer’s perspective, I have dabbled in this and that for years. I tried blogging on different subjects and became involved in various get rich quick, done for you programs, moving on to one shiny object after another. Around 2011, I created an eBook, Begin Marketing Online, which didn’t sell well. I got frustrated at that point and tried more of a local approach. I created a small and unique newspaper and a classified ads site in my hometown. I was even awarded a small business loan for this from my state to increase revenue in rural communities and my local Chamber of Commerce was about what I had created. After about a year of trying to get things off the ground, I realized it was too overwhelming for me to launch. I had a full-time job periodically spilling over into inconvenient hours. In 2014, I launched a membership site with over 200 software tools. Due to poor planning and my overzealous nature to ‘go big or go home’, I did not listen to Alex Jeffreys, my internet marketing coach at the time, to keep things simple, so it became an overwhelming mess. I can still hear him saying to me, “Nancy, just keep it simple.” Unless he reads this, he doesn’t know that I ended up falling on my face once the coaching program was over. It also didn’t help that I was trying to do this while suffering from a nasty bout of mono.
This brings me to where I am today. I have realized my biggest problem has been fear of failure AND fear of success. I have decided to finally overcome my fears and at the time of writing this page (May 5, 2018), I am currently receiving coaching from two top internet marketers; Chris X of the wildly popular Titan products and the infamously honest John Thornhill. My journey with Chris X will be somewhat short-lived but he has filled in many blanks for me in the world of software, for which I am eternally grateful as it is my true passion in this industry. My journey with John will likely last for years to come and I look forward to teaching others what I have learned from working with some of the best internet marketers in the world.
As a result of my experiences as a buyer and observing what marketers are doing on a daily basis, one central theme that my blog will be about is what you need and what you don’t in order to succeed online. Think about this; if you have purchased thousands of dollars in products like myself, which of those products have been of great use to you and which are just sitting on a hard drive? How many are web-based courses and software tools you either can’t remember the password for or are no longer working? Even more importantly, how many and which products are successful internet marketers using in their own business? Think about that. I have spent much of my time thinking about it. The answer? Well, keep visiting because that is where my true journey begins.
Join me as I go from professional newbie product junkie to smart wealthy marketer teaching you all that I have learned along the way.
